From astern emerges a sight

Ebon arms from obsidian space
Outstretched many-fathomed embrace
Like a lover it cleaves to the hull
With the might of a god it begins to pull

Planks crack, thundering like cannon fire
Inching closer, into the churning gyre
Storm fury, cloaking the sky
Batten down the lids of heaven's eye
To the fore, to the guns
Lay a fury to bedim the sun
Til the last man dies as well
Open fire on the mouth of hell

Five yards from the jaws of death
Many crushed and removed of their flesh
Dying screams that dead souls wail
Ship succumbs to the beast and the gale
Through the hurricane and into the flood

A churning vortex building in power

Clinging hard to floating debris
